Notre Dame football has played but never beaten these FBS teams
Georgia
- First game played: 1/1/1981
- Last game played: 9/21/2019
- Last game final score: 23-17
Perhaps the least surprising program on this list, Georgia, has gotten the better of Notre Dame all three times they faced off: in New Orleans during the 1981 Sugar Bowl, in South Bend in 2017, and in Athens on the other end of that home-and-home in 2019.
The Fighting Irish have not had the best of luck with the scheduling gods, having been pitted against the Bulldogs during UGA’s best years. The late-1980s and early-1990s would’ve been ideal since Georgia was going through an atypical down period, but alas, Notre Dame has played UGA at their best and came up short each time.
Now, to be fair, these weren’t TCU-esque blowouts at the hands of Kirby Smart and Vince Dooley. The latter knocked off ND by a touchdown to win the 1980 National Championship, while the former was in the process of building a modern powerhouse when Brian Kelly’s squads lost by less than a touchdown combined in 2017 and 2019.
Still, an 0-3 mark against UGA is the worst record Notre Dame football has against any program across the country in its storied history.
