Oklahoma State

The 2022 Fiesta Bowl was the only meeting between Notre Dame and Oklahoma State, and while the matchup was an instant classic, it will be remembered in Stillwater and forgotten by the Fighting Irish faithful.

Both programs got incredible performances in the passing game, with Jack Coan going for 508 passing yards and five touchdowns, while Spencer Sanders had 371 passing yards and four touchdowns of his own. Ultimately, it was a 17-point third quarter that clinched things for the Pokes.

An expanded College Football Playoff in 2024 increases the likelihood these two teams play again in the future, with a possible home-field advantage for one of the two teams possible if the CFP decides to move in that direction. With Oklahoma and Texas leaving the Big 12 for the SEC, the Cowboys figure to be the conference’s best shot at the CFP, and Notre Dame is a shoo-in for one of those 12 spots most years.
