2010 was the perfect intersection of Notre Dame mediocrity and Tusla excellence, leading to a 28-27 shocker the day before Halloween. The Golden Hurricanes hit a go-ahead field goal with under five minutes left and intercepted Tommy Rees in the endzone in the final minute to cement the upset before going on to win 10 games and that season’s Hawaii Bowl.

Tulsa has only had five winning seasons since that season and five eight-loss years since; two of those being double-digit losing campaigns. They’ve been largely irrelevant in the AAC, though they are now one of the longest-tenured conference members.

When will these two teams meet again, you may ask? Well, that question is nearly impossible to answer, but it’s possible Tulsa will own bragging rights over the gold helmets for an indefinite amount of time.
