Now that Deuce Knight has committed to Notre Dame football, it appears he might be able to lure one of the top legacy prospects to South Bend as well.

Deuce Knight gave his commitment to Notre Dame football less than a month ago. However, that commitment has shaken the college football world. It’s also gotten the attention of several other Fighting Irish recruits of late.

At the top of the list of players who have noticed the top-ranked quarterback in the 2025 class heading to South Bend is none other than Jerome Bettis Jr.

The legacy prospect recently spoke to Mike Singer of On3 and made it very clear that he’s impressed by what Knight has to offer. It seems as though he likes the quarterback enough that it might help Notre Dame football reel in the 3-star wide receiver.

"“He’s super impressive. Deuce is insanely talented. To see him go to Notre Dame is a big incentive.”"

Jerome Bettis Jr is already considered a heavy Notre Dame football lean. After all, his father, Jerome Bettis Sr is a Fighting Irish legend. That’s also one of the reasons Marcus Freeman and company are hoping to lure him in.

It would be a nice feather in the cap of the current coaching staff to have the son of such a revered player in their class. That the son is also a highly talented pass catcher who has caught the eye of other Power 5 programs is icing on the cake.

Notre Dame football keeps building 2025 class

Arkansas, Boston College, North Carolina State and Missouri are just a few of the Power 5 programs after the younger Bettis.

However when it comes to the 2025 class, none of them can compete with what Notre Dame football has. That might indeed be the icing on the cake when it comes to landing the 3-star prospect, who seems rather close to pulling the trigger.
