Notre Dame football recruiting saw some real lifts to players that it had already reeled in as recruits. That’s only going to look better to other targets.

While Notre Dame football tries to salvage the season and make a big bowl game, Marcus Freeman and company are doing quite well in building for the future. The team had a very nice 2024 recruiting class even before this week.

However, several boosts to players that are committed to Notre Dame football is giving the team some more bragging rights. One boost to the rankings to one commit in particular, Bryce Young has seen his star burn a bit brighter.

This particular Bryce Young isn’t a quarterback for the Carolina Panthers but is a defensive lineman for Charlotte (N.C.) Christian. He’s also someone who has looked quite impressive in his final high school season.

The 6-5, 250-pound defender started as a 3-star prospect but his performance this year and the schools that are coming after him have seen him get some more “street” cred. The defensive lineman is now touted as a 4-star prospect. He’s now ranked 73rd in the entire class.

It stands to reason that this Bryce Young might keep going up, considering that he has 18 tackles for loss and 8 sacks through just seven games.

Notre Dame football prospects see boost

Young isn’t the only commit who has seen his ratings get a raise. Running back Kedren Young started out as a 4-star prospect thanks to his prowess on the ground, but he wasn’t a member of the 247Sports Top 150 prospects.

That changed this week when he made the leap up to 101st thanks in no small part to his 687 yards in five games. He’s also got nine rushing touchdowns.

Both of these Notre Dame football commits are part of a 2024 class that is currently ranked 8th in the country, according to 247.
