In the best of the college football Week 7 picks, there are some ACC teams that are going to handle their business, but how will Notre Dame do?

No, when it comes to college football, Notre Dame isn’t technically part of the ACC. However, the Fighting Irish are inextricably linked to the conference thanks to their allegiances in many other sports.

There’s also the fact that Marcus Freeman and his squad tend to play almost as many ACC squads as any other team in college football. So this week, we’re going to tie the Golden Domers’ game into their adopted conference opponents with the college football Week 7 picks and predictions.

College football Week 7 picks and predictions

Syracuse at Florida State (-18.5): There was a time when the Syracuse Orangemen looked like they were rolling to another winning season. Two straight losses and a matchup with the ACC’s best squad has changed that.  It’s tempting to predict that the Orange can cover that spread, but the fact of the matter is the Seminoles are rolling. Florida State 49- Syracuse 21.

Wake Forest at Virginia Tech (-1.5): The Wake Forest Demon Deacons might be one of the only upsets this week in the ACC. Both of these teams have spent time as college football powers in the last few years. Today’s matchup is a bout between two squads hoping to go bowling. Wake takes a big step in that direction on Saturday afternoon. Wake Forest 35 – Virginia Tech 30.

Louisville (-7) at Pittsburgh: The Cardinals are coming off a big win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to improve to 6-0. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, is changing quarterbacks. This spread would be a lot bigger if it weren’t at Pitt, but the Cards are still going to roll. Louisville 30 – Pitt 17.

Miami at North Carolina (-3): The Hurricanes are coming off the biggest blown game in recent college football memory. North Carolina, meanwhile got one of its biggest weapons to join the team after a long wait. One program is going one direction, the other is heading in the opposite direction. North Carolina 35 – Miami 20.

North Carolina State at Duke (-3.5): Duke has been one of the feel good stories of the college football world this season but that story is going to hit a bit of a snag this week. Riley Leonard is almost certainly not 100 percent and the Wolfpack are going to take advantage of that. North Carolina State 17 – Duke 14.

USC at Notre Dame (-2.5): It feels really hard to figure out how the Notre Dame football team beats a USC squad that can score points at will. Yes, the Trojans have an incredibly porous defense, but there’s no proof Gerard Parker knows how to take advantage of that. USC 40 – Notre Dame 20.
