It’s never great when college analysts have to eat crow the way that one analyst who called Notre Dame football stadium a ‘dump’ had to do on Saturday.

It’s one of the things I like the least about the current state of analysis in sports in general. People feel like they need to pick a side in order to get eyes on their television or radio shows or just their social media accounts.

The more outrageous the comment, the more they get people to interact. I get that and understand that by writing this article I’m doing exactly what Keyshawn Johnson wanted when he decided to insult Notre Dame football faithful by calling the Fighting Irish’s beloved stadium a “dump.”

Johnson, who of course, is a USC alum took a trip to South Bend with his son in order to watch the big rivalry game on Saturday. He commemorated the moment on his social media as the two posed smiling on the field.

Johnson was sporting his old Trojans letter jacket while his son Vance was shown smiling next to him. The caption of the tweet was a simple one.

"“Vance is loving his first trip to this dump”"

He ended the tweet with the hashtag FightOn, which is the hashtag most often associated with USC.

We all know what happened not long after this tweet was sent out.

Notre Dame football puts analyst in his place

If you have somehow been living under a rock and didn’t know what went down on Saturday night, allow me to enlighten you. The Notre Dame football team went to work in its “dump” and blew out the Trojans 48-20.

In the process, it’s likely that the Fighting Irish ended any chance of Caleb Williams getting his second straight Heisman.

One has to think that when Keyshawn was walking out of Notre Dame football stadium he wasn’t smiling quite as broadly as he was in his tweet.
