There is one particular Notre Dame football commit who has convinced at least one analyst that he’ll make an impact immediately.

Considering just how star-studded Notre Dame football’s 2024 recruiting class is, you could be forgiven if you forgot about wide receiver commit Logan Saldate. However, there are more than a few analysts who believe it will be hard to forget him once he starts his Fighting Irish career.

Saldate, a 4-star prospect out of Salinas, California, committed to the Notre Dame football team over Power 5 schools like Washington, Oregon State and Oklahoma State.

While those programs are decent enough, the receiver didn’t have offers from big name teams like Alabama, Georgia or even USC or UCLA. Therefore he’s a bit of an under the radar player, as much as a 4-star player can be under the radar.

On Wednesday, Irish Illustrated’s Kevin Sinclair posted some video of Saldate on Twitter, apparently just to show that the kid has some major college football talent.

“Heck of a play here from #NotreDame receiver commit Logan Saldate,” Sinclair wrote alongside the video. “Check out the footwork and how he adjusts to/fights for the football, an excellent completion here from the NorCal product. Kid had some gnarly routes and plays with an edge I really like.”

Notre Dame football commit raising eyebrows

That prompted 247Sports analyst Tom Loy to chime in. Like Sinclair, Loy is clearly impressed with what Saldate brings to the table. In fact, he believes the receiver can offer a near-instant impact for an offense that definitely needs playmakers at wide receiver.

“Wouldn’t shock me at all if he played as a true freshman,” Loy wrote.

That Saldate stands out to analysts this much is impressive especially because the Notre Dame football team is not light on wide receiver commits in the 2024 class alone. In addition to Saldate, the Fighting Irish are expected to bring home 4-star pass catchers Cam Williams and Micah Gilbert.

The current receiver corps has some budding youngsters as well. With limited space on the field for Notre Dame football, it’s certainly impressive that Saldate is expected to produce right away.
