The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are going to be playing their final two games of the season without one of their best offensive linemen.

Coming off a terrible loss to Clemson and then having to sit around a week before bouncing back, the first press conference of Wake Forest week brought some rather unpleasant news.

Chief among the news was that veteran offensive lineman Rocco Spindler is out for the rest of the season. He’ll sit the final two games with a knee injury.

Spindler joined the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football team in 2021 and played two games as a true freshman. He then saw action in 12 of 13 games as a sophomore in 2022 and played in all 10 games so far this year.

He’ll have two more years of eligibility since he was able to keep his freshman designation in 2021.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish injury updates

In addition to Spindler, the Golden Domers also lost safety Luke Talich for the season in a practice injury. Talich broke his collarbone over the bye week.

Offensive lineman Zeke Correll could still play again this year, though he’s still in the concussion protocol at the moment. It appears he’s not going to be ready for Wake Forest at the moment.

Men’s Soccer going dancing

On Monday, the Notre Dame men’s soccer team was selected as the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA tournament and earned a bid for the 24th time in program history.

Hannah Hidalgo gets recognition

Following a couple of historic performances in her first two outings for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Hannah Hidalgo has earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors.

Hidalgo made school history in each of her first two games. In the season opener against South Carolina, Hidalgo set a new freshman record for scoring with 31 points. In the team’s second game, she set a freshman record for steals with 12.

It’s a heck of a start for the young woman’s career.
