The Notre Dame football team might have dropped a bit in the AP Polls, but just ahead of the official College Football Playoff rankings getting released tomorrow night (did no one look at the calendar before planning that), we have one more playoff prediction to see how right we can get things.

The good news is that even with the drop in the AP poll, the Irish look like they’re safely in the playoffs. In fact, with the rest of the schedule and the chaos that has been going on in the Power conferences, it’s looking an awful lot like the Blue and Gold are going to be hosting a playoff game.

The College Football Playoffs final rankings are just week away. The Notre Dame football team’s season is surprisingly almost over. My how time flies when we’re having fun. And the Irish has indeed been fun. Even with a Week 2 loss to Northern Illinois.

As has been the case most weeks this season, there were enough shakeups among the conference teams that, once again, the biggest takeaway is that Notre Dame was 100% correct in staying out of that fray.

And now, just ahead of the College Football Playoffs rankings, it looks like the Irish are hosting a game and will be the first team to play the only Group of 5 squad in the field. Should the rankings shake out this way, the Notre Dame football team will take on Boise State and Ashton Jeanty. That'd gonna be a heck of a game.
