Notre Dame spring football practices have come and gone, and the spring game is over, which means the Fighting Irish are heading into quite the dead period when it comes to football other than recruiting.

Spring football was great for Notre Dame as the team is going through quite a few changes with a new quarterback and other new additions through the transfer portal. This is not the same team that made it to the National Championship last season, but they still show a lot of potential, especially after their showing in the spring game.

So, heading looking forward to the 2025 season, here is how the depth chart could be shaking out for Notre Dame.

Offense

QB:
1. RS FR CJ Carr
2. RS SO Kenny Minchey

RB:
1. JR Jeremiyah Love
2. RS JR Jadarian Price

WR-X:

1. RS SR Malachi Fields
2. RS FR Micah Gilbert

WR-Z:
1. JR Jordan Faison
2. FR Elijah Burress

2. RS SO Joe Otting

LG:
1. RS JR Billy Schrauth
2. RS SO Sullivan Absher

LT:
1. SO Anthonie Knapp
2. ES FR Styles Prescod

The offense is going through some changes this season, with Riley Leonard going to the NFL. However, the run game is looking to be the strongest part of this offense with he return of both Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price to the field. Young redshirt freshman CJ Carr is going to be taking over the quarterback duties for the Fighting Irish, and he certainly has his work cut out for him.

The offensive line is going to be another focus this season, especially with a new young quarterback under center. The line is going to have to hold strong, especially after losing a couple of pieces to the transfer portal.

Defense

DE:
1. RS JR Joshua Burnham
2. So Bryce Young

NT:
1. RS SR Gabriel Rubio
2. RS SR Jared Dawson

DT:
1. RS SR Jason Onye

2. SO Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa

ROVER:
1. RS SO Jaiden Ausberry
2. RS FR Teddy Rezac

FCB:
1. JR Christian Gray
2. FR Cree Thomas

FS:
1. JR Luke Talich
2. RS SR Jalen Stroman

BS:
1. RS SO Adon Shuler
2. RS FR Tae Johnson

BCB:
1. SO Leonard Moore
2. FR Dallas Golden

NB:
1. RS SR DeVonta Smith
2. SO Karson Hobbs

The defense struggled in the National Championship against Ohio State, but when looking at the game, there was no stopping the Buckeyes. However, with some new additions and Marcus Freeman knowing the defense is probably what needs the most work this offseason, this will be a focal point to focus on for the Fighting Irish.
