With the NFL season now officially done, the coaching blood bath has begun both amongst the teams but also the college ranks. For those positional coaching jobs, NFL teams tend to venture to the college ranks to see who they can get and develop potentially into more one day.
Notre Dame has certainly been a victim of this, as multiple position coaches have been taken to the NFL. This could cause some problems when it comes to recruiting, especially for the Class of 2027, but for one four-star commit, he isn't planning on going anywhere.
Four-star cornerback Ace Alston was recruited by Mike Mickens, who was recently hired to be the defensive backs coach with the Baltimore Ravens. Alston loved what Mickens had to offer, but he was recently replaced by Aaron Henry, who was at Illinois.
There were a few questions about whether or not Alston would stick with Notre Dame after the Mickens departure, and he recently addressed those questions. The No. 11 cornerback in the Class of 2027 stated that he is still 100% committed to the Irish.

This is music to the ears of Irish fans everywhere as it shows just how much players want to be in South Bend with Notre Dame. Mickens was a great defensive backs coach, and he definitely will be missed, but head coach Marcus Freeman is the ultimate recruiter and knows how to get guys in the building adn wanting to stick with the Irish.
The defensive backs coaching job at Notre Dame was one that many wanted in the college coaching world, so bringing in Henry shows that he is going to do great things in South Bend, and Freeman is going to get him the recruits he needs to be successful.
Henry and Alston have met before when the young cornerback was being looked at by Illinois, so the relationship is clearly already there.
