Kamden Lopati has had a lot of action in his recruitment over the past few weeks, but only one school could provide his dream offer and Notre Dame did that for the Salt Lake City native.

Lopati, who has been committed to Illinois since last July, but he is now attracting attention from the elite programs, and he tells Matt Freeman from Irish Sports Daily that the offer from Notre Dame is going to be hard to pass up.

It was definitely like a dream come true. It was one of those offers that I don't really know how to explain," Lopati said. "It was definitely up there on the list, if that makes sense.”

Kamden Lopati fulfills dream with Notre Dame offer

Lopati, who recently received offers from Michigan and Michigan State as well, is going to have to make some decisions when it comes down to the schools he that he will take official visits to. He's already been to Notre Dame for a camp and has developed a relationship with quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli. Other programs, like Cal and Duke are also in the picture for Lopati.

The rising senior had a chance to test his skills last month when he participated in the Under Armour All-America Game along with many other top juniors in the country. Lopati performed well in the game, which he used to measure himself against some of the best players in his class.

“I think it's kind of like a thing where you kind of just get thrown in there and if you don't do your stuff by yourself in your hotel room with your roommate – my roommate and I did the plays with each other, so that was a big thing with it," Lopati added. "It's kind of like a different level of high school. I was kind of playing JV and then got to Florida. It was kind of like varsity, so it was pretty fun to play in."

Notre Dame currently has seven commits in the 2027 recruiting class, but now the focus turns to finding the right quarterback to add to the group. Lopati is among several top names that the Irish have been recruiting heavily.
