Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman has proved he is one of the top recruiters in the country by consistently having a top-ranked recruiting class year in and year out. Notre Dame has the No. 4 recruiting class for 2026 and already the No. 4 recruiting class for 2027.

Freeman already has five commitments in the Class of 2027, three of them four-star recruits, according to 247Sports, but he could be in line to get his first five-star recruit for the class. Five-star wide receiver Monshun Slaes visited Notre Dame this past weekend when the Fighting Irish faced off against No. 20 USC, and his reaction to his time in South Bend should have Freeman feeling pretty good.

"I just love Notre Dame, that's that," Sales said. "I just really love Notre Dame."

Sales is certainly a player that the Fighting Irish would love to get. He is the No. 5 player in the Class of 2027, the No. 1 wide receiver in his class, and the No. 1 player in the state of Indiana, according to 247Sports.

According to 247Sports composite rankings, his status in the class doesn't change much. Sales is still a five-star recruit just ranked No. 12 in the Class of 2027, the No. 3 wide receiver in his class, and still the No. 1 player in the state of Indiana.

Notre Dame has yet to secure a commitment from a wide receiver in the Class of 2027, but the Fighting Irish does have a commitment from quarterback Teddy Jarrad, who is currently a four-star QB in the class. Having the combination of Jarrard and Sales could be something Notre Dame would love to see.

Sales has not made any sort of official commitment to Notre Dame, and may wait to make any until he has time to visit other schools, but he seems pretty happy with the Fighting Irish already.
