With March right around the corner, it’s time to zero in on the ACC Basketball Tournament. If you’re planning on seeing whether or not the Notre Dame Fighting Irish make a little run after a disappointing regular season, then you are going to want to know the lowdown of this tourney, especially with the ACC being bigger anad badder than ever before.
ACC Basketball Tournament date and location
The ACC basketball tournament is set to tip off on March 11, and will run through March 12. This year’s tourney will take place in the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
That’s a bit of a trip for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but of course, quite a bit of the ACC basketball teams are located in and around North Carolina. It’s not as long a trip as say, the journey that Stanford or SMU would have to make, but Indiana is a decent hike.
ACC Basketball tournament schedule
The first round of this tournament is still about getting rid of the chafe. That’s why Game 1 on Wednesday will be against the No. 12 and No. 13 seeds. At the moment, that would be the Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs the Virginia Tech Hokies.
At 4:30, the No. 10 vs No. 15 game will tip off. That happens to be the lowest seed to make the tournament. That would currently be the MIami Hurricanes. Finally, the No 11 vs No. 14 seed (Stanford vs Syracuse) will be the 7pm game.
Thursday will start the higher seeds going up against Wednesday winners, with the noon game being No. 8 vs the No. 9 seed.
Should the Notre Dame Fighting Irish take care of business in the first round the ACC Basketball tournament, they would take on the No. 5 seed at 2:30pm.
