With March right around the corner, it’s time to zero in on the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament. If you’re planning on seeing whether or not the Notre Dame Fighting Irish can follow up their regular season title with a conference title, then you are going to want to know the lowdown of this tourney, especially with the ACC being bigger anad badder than ever before.
ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament date and location
The Ally ACC Women’s basketball tournament is set to tip off on March 5, and will run through March 9. This year’s tourney will take place in the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
That’s a bit of a trip for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but of course, quite a bit of the ACC Women’s basketball teams are located in and around North Carolina. It’s not as long a trip as say, the journey that Stanford or SMU would have to make, but Indiana is a decent hike.
ACC Women’s Basketball tournament schedule
The first round of this tournament is still about getting rid of the chafe. That’s why Game 1 on Wednesday will be against the No. 12 and No. 13 seeds. At the moment, that would be Clemson vs Boston College.
At 3:30, the No. 10 vs No. 15 game will tip off. That happens to be the lowest seed to make the tournament. That would currently be the MIami Hurricanes. Finally, the No 11 vs No. 14 seed (Stanford vs Syracuse) will be the 6:30pm game.
Thursday will start the higher seeds going up against Wednesday winners, with the 11am game being No. 5 vs the winner game 1.
Should the Notre Dame Fighting Irish take care of business and finish as the No. 1 seed in tourney, they’ll have a bit of waiting to do as their first game in the ACC Women’s Basketball tournament would be at 1:30pm on Friday.
