If the Notre Dame football team gets back to the playoffs and makes some noise once they get there, the team will need to rely on everyone contributing in every way possible. That includes injured players like Charles Jagusah, helping their teammates get better even if they can't square off against them in practice.
Jagusah was set to lead one of the country's best offensive lines this season. However, an accident over the offseason has him missing at least the start of fall camp and the regular season. Despite not being in pads and working out with the rest of his teammates, Jagusah isn't allowing his injury to stop him from helping out in other ways.
Collective effort grows as Notre Dame football fills gaps while starters recover
In a clip shared earlier this week, the Notre Dame football team's most talented lineman is seen coaching up his teammates, recording their reps to help the with their technique. It shows that he clearly misses being out there preparing for the season, but also that he’s a team player.
Coaches have talked about how the lineman has chipped in as a kind of extra assistant if he can't get reps.
"He is always engaged. He's always locked in...That's just the type of person that he is."
For now, this is the best way that Charles Jagusah can help out the team. There's been quite a bit of frustration over his injury, considering it happened when he was doing things that had nothing to do with football.
However, the Notre Dame football player is showing his teammates that even if he can't be on the field with them for now, he's not just sitting back and biding his time.
