Devin Fitzgerald grew up watching his down break records in the NFL and truly become of the greatest wide receivers of all-time. At the age of 12, he watched his dad play his final NFL game and saw truly what it took to be a receiver at the elite level.
Now, Devin is heading into a new phase of life, entering college at Notre Dame, and is walking the same path his father once did. Fitzgerald was a huge commitment for head coach Macus Freeman out of the Class of 2026, not only for being the son of an NFL Hall of Famer, but the fact that he back sup his last name with talent of his own.
Fitzgerald enrolled early at Notre Dame and has already immersed himself in everything the Notre Dame football program has to offer. The young freshman is ready to bring all his talent to the Irish, but he also brings some knowledge from his father to the rest of the team.
"Just seeing all the preparation and dedication it takes to be in the league and maintain greatness, I got to see the blueprint," Fitzgerald said.

Devin Fitzgerald is in the middle of heavy wide recevier competition at Notre Dame
There will be a lot of competition in the wide receiver room at Notre Dame this season. Not only did Freeman make sure he brought in top receiver talent out of the Class of 2026, but he also put the work in the transfer portal. Freeman brought in Ohio State transfers Quincy Porter and Mylan Graham, so Fitzgerald will have his work cut out for him when it comes to finding playing time.
Fitzgerald isn't scared of the competition, though, as he is looking at it as a motivating factor for his first season with the Irish. He is happy to have the talent around him and is ready for the competition to heat up in South Bend.
