Notre Dame's snub in the College Football Playoff might go down as one of the biggest since college football went from BCS to the CFP. While some may say Florida State back in 2023 is the biggest snub, they had something happen with Jordan Travis going down with an injury. Notre Dame did everything possible to make it in after losing two games and was basically strung along for five weeks by the selection committee.
Notre Dame fans everywhere are coming out and speaking their mind on the fact that Notre Dame didn't get it. There are many big-name Notre Dame fans out there, including legendary basketball broadcaster Dick Vitale.
Vitale took the time to put his Notre Dame pullover on, sit on the couch, and make a video to post to social media, calling out the selection committee for the robbery that occurred on Sunday.
Dick Vitale can't believe Notre Dame was left out of the CFP
Dick Vitale knows all about Selection Sunday when it comes to March Madness, and he also knows quite a bit about teams getting snubbed from the big end-of-the-season tournament. However, he can't believe his beloved Irish were actually left out of the College Football Playoff this year and is making sure the selection committee hears it.
Yes @NDFootball left out of the playoffs is hard to comprehend. Can the committee logically explain how they could have ND in the Top 12 ahead of Miami for 5 weeks and then leave them out in the end, after Miami lost to 2 currently unranked teams. Where is the logic?? pic.twitter.com/u1MaOxckSA

Vitale completely questions the logic of the committee having Notre Dame in the field of the playoff in all five season rankings, but in the final bracket reveal, suddenly, they are out. Not only does Vitale call out the discrepancy with Miami, but also the fact that the Irish are getting punished for the first game of the season, just like Alabama did, but the Crimson Tide lost to a really bad Florida State team.
"You make a big deal about Notre Dame losing the opening game of the season to start the season, but yet you do nothing and say nothing about Alabama getting beat by Florida State, a sub-par .500 team," Vitale said. "I have a tough time logically understanding that."
Vitale basically was voicing everything that every Notre Dame fan was feeling and thinking after the Irish were left out of the playoff. Vitale even admitted he is a biased Notre Dame fan, but someone who has been around sports for a long time knows a raw deal when they see it, and Vitale saw just that.
