There is no doubt in at Notre Dame fan's mind that Jeremiyah Love is the best returning running back in college football this season, and ESPN has just confirmed that. ESPN has also confirmed that cornerback Leonard Moore is at the top of his position as well, naming both him and Love to their Preseason All-American list.

This is the second year in a row that Notre Dame has had two players named to this list by ESPN, showing that Marcus Freeman must be doing something right in South Bend.

Love is sharing the running backs' spotlight with Penn State running back Nicholas Singleton, who also had a monster 2024 season and made the choice to return to college football. There is no doubt that Love and Singleton are No. 1 and No. 2 when it comes to running backs, but of course, Love is standing in the top spot.

Moore is sharing the cornerback spotlight with Tennessee's Jermod McCoy. After just one season at Notre Dame, Moore is showing he is the real deal and proving that Freeman knows how to bring in great young talent. Moore is listed as one of the top cornerbacks coming back this season, and he is only a sophomore, which speaks to his ability.

Both Love and Moore have the ability to really lead this Notre Dame team this season. For Love, it seems like until whichever quarterback gets the start, the offense will most likely be running through him as much as possible until the QB gets comfortable. Love is a sure hand, and with over 1,100 yards last season and 17 touchdowns, he will be crucial for the Fighting Irish to get the offense off the ground.

Moore has work to do on his defense as the Fighting Irish certainly need to take pressure off of the offense, more importantly, the quarterback. Moore also won the FWAA Freshman Defensive Player of the Year last season because he led Notre Dame with 11 pass breakups and had two interceptions dan two forced fumbles.
