When Tommy Rees was a member of the Notre Dame football staff, he was one of the more divisive coaches on the staff. Some Fighting Irish fans loved his approach; others thought he was in over his head. However, no one can argue that Rees' climb through the ranks has been impressive since leaving South Bend.

Now the offensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns, it appears that he might have made a more positive impact on the school he coached at after ND. That's if fans can believe some of the latest odds out of Vegas.

Former Notre Dame football offensive coordinator Tommy Rees headed to Tuscaloosa?

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is under some serious fire after the Crimson Tide opened its season with a loss to Florida State. There's quite a bit of talk the SEC power will fire him before the season is out. And if DeBoer hits the unemployment line, the former Notre Dame football OC is the odds-on favorite to get the job.

According to these odds, posted by a local ESPN radio station, Rees sits at the top of the list with 3-to-1 odds. Georgia OC Glenn Schuman is right behind him at 4-to-1 odds. Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is 3rd with 5-to-1 odds.

That alone should make SEC fans stand up and take notice. Kiffin has coached at Alabama before and has quite the run with the Rebels. That the former Notre Dame football coach is a front runner over him is impressive. Clearly, Tommy Rees is someone that the same people who hired Kalen DeBoer have quite a bit of interest in.
