Notre Dame is 3-2 heading into Week 7, and quarterback CJ Carr is not to blame for those two losses. Carr has done everything his coaching staff and Marcus Freeman could have asked from him so far this season.

As a freshman quarterback starting for the first time in his career this season, Carr is putting up numbers that most veterans are struggling to put up right now. Carr, in five games, has thrown for 1,280 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and only two interceptions so far. He has a 67.7 completion percentage and is averaging 10.1 yards per throw.

Carr is putting together a highlight season for the start of his career, and former Notre Dame quarterback, who also happens to be a fan-favorite, Brady Quinn, clearly is taking note of how well the young freshman is playing.

Quinn took to social media just to shout out Carr and put it in writing at this point in time what he thinks about Carr. He also has a receipt he can come back to if Carr does something amazing, like win the Heisman Trophy or even help lead Notre Dame to a National Championship.

Quinn knows what it is like to play quarterback at Notre Dame and play it at the highest level, as the record books at the quarterback position at Notre Dame are littered with the name "Brady Quinn." Now, as a Fox Sports analyst, what Quinn says is taken very seriously, so his praise of Carr should mean a lot to the young freshman.

Even though Carr had to battle for his spot before the season started, and it was rumored that Kenny Minchey was playing better at one point, Carr was named the starter before the first game of the season. Some had their doubts about Carr, but he has proven that as long as he has a defense that can get enough stops, he is going to get the offense to put points on the board.
