Notre Dame football fans have been pushing the narrative for a while now that Jeremiyah Love is undoubtedly the best running back in college football. It turns out that analysts are starting to buy into the Heisman hype as well.
There have been plenty of analysts who believe that Love is among the best backs in the country. He’s expected to be a first-round pick in next year’s NFL Draft by almost everyone.
PFF: Jeremiyah Love headlines nation’s best backfield with Price, Williams and Young in support
PFF, one of the top analytics sites in football, is singing the Notre Dame football running back’s praises. The site has pinpointed him as the top of the hill and cream of the crop in the 2025 season.

“Jeremiah Love is the best running back in America going into next year,” PFF analysts said in a recent podcast. They also pointed out his value isn’t coming out of nowhere, but he was very, very good in 2024 (as if that was a secret).
“The second most valuable running back in college football last year. According to our wins above average metric.”
As impressed by Love as the analysts are, they also really just love the Notre Dame backfield in general.
“Behind him is a really, really good number two running back Jadarian Price. Honestly, he's probably a top 20-ish running back in college football. He led the Power Four with 4.5 yards after contact per attempt.”
“They also brought back Aeneas Williams, who is second among all true freshman running backs with 172 receiving yards last year. And then you also have a redshirt freshman in Kedren Young, who was a number nine running back coming out in the high school class of 2024.”
There is a big reason why the Notre Dame football team is expected to compete for a national title again in 2025. Jeremiyah Love is a big part of it, but the guys behind him are also expected to take some pressure off whoever will be the new starting quarterback this fall.
