After the highly anticipated return of the EA Sports College Football game last year, it will return this year with College Football 26. Of course, before the game comes out, there are a lot of teasers like the cover art, the preview video, and finally, the player ratings.
The game released its top 100 player ratings, and usually, all of these players have a 90 or higher rating, which is the average of their speed, strength, agility, change of direction, injury, and awareness ratings.
Of the four Notre Dame players listed in the top 100, there was one player who truly topped them all and even made it into the Top 5 players overall, and that was running back Jeremiyah Love. Love is ranked No. 4 in the top 100 player ratings in the game with an overall rating of 95, a rating only four other college football players received.
Love's average rating of 95 is higher than what he received last season, and the rest of his ratings are the reason why. He received ratings in the 90s for four of the six categories, with his lowest coming in his strength. He received a 95 rating in speed, which is the highest among all running backs. Love's lowest rating came in the strength category with a 75 rating, but there is a feeling that could change this season.
Love scored a 93, 92, and 93 in his change of agility, change of direction, and injury categories, which is good for a running back. However, he dipped down a little again with an 88 in his awareness. All in all, though, Love's rating is great, and he has a prime opportunity this season to see if he can raise it at all with a solid third season with the Fighting Irish.
3 other Notre Dame players placed in the Top 100 for College Football 26
Love was not the only Notre Dame player to fall in the Top 100 for College Football 26. Leonard Moore, Aamil Wagner, and Malachai Fields were also rated pretty high, giving the Fighting Irish a total of four players in the Top 100.
Fields came in with ties with the lowest rating of the four players with an 91 overall rating. Fields scored a 91 in speed, a 79 in strength, an 87 in agility, an 85 in change of direction, a 90 in injury, and a 93 in awareness to give him an overall rating of 91.
Wagner was also given a 91 overall rating in the game, tying with Fields; however, his numbers looked very different. Wagner was given a 75 in speed, an 87 in strength, a 78 in agility, a 62 in change of direction, an 88 in injury, and a 93 in awareness. Clearly, the biggest thing Wagner needs to work on is his change of direction, but for an offensive tackle, his biggest worry is about blocking who is in front of him.
Finally, Leonard Moore is the last Notre Dame player to appear in the Top 100 with a 93 overall rating. Moore scored a 92 in speed, a 65 in strength, a 94 in agility, a 93 in change of direction, a 93 in injury, and an 86 in awareness. Moore seriously needs to get in the weight room, according to College Football 26, with a 65 rating in strength.
