Notre Dame football faithful have known for a while that new running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider was going to pay dividends from almost the moment he arrived in South Bend. The biggest dividend came last weekend when the Irish scored 4-star running back Javian Osborne. He could be about to pay off again in the former of 4-star prospect, Jonaz Walton.
The Blue and Gold have been making moves in the commitment of Walton of late, with the prospect telling anyone who would listen how “amazing” a recent unofficial visit was. Things are so amazing, as a matter of fact that the Carrollton, Georgia target has now been predicted to land in South Bend in the very near future.
Notre Dame trending for another elite RB in 2026 class
On3’s Steve Wiltfong has officially entered a Fongbomb for Notre Dame football to land Walton, keeping what has just been an insane recruiting run, right on going.
Should he pull the trigger, and more than Wiltfong is pointing that direction, it would mean that the Irish are beating out some impressive suitors. Walton has offers from Alabama, Georgia, Tennesse, Florida and many others.
Taking a guy from the Bulldogs backyard will never not be attractive and getting a second top ranked running back (he’s the No. 10 RB in the 2026 class according to On3’s Industry rankings) would be a great get for Seider who is of course, also still working on bringing in Messiah Mickens.
It would seem as though Walton committing to Notre Dame football would mean that Mickens is out of the picture. That’s a trade most fans would be ok with though.
