In the second quarter of Notre Dame's matchup against Texas A&M, Leonard Moore went in for a tackle on a run play and was unfortunately taken out by one of his own teammates. On the tackle, Moore was taken out by his right knee, and his leg bent awkwardly.

After staying down on the field for a minute, the medical staff came out, and two people had to help Moore off the field. He wasn't putting a lot of weight on his leg. Moore did not come in for the rest of Texas A&M's drive, and his absence certainly hurt as Mark Zackery came in as his replacement and the Aggies went right after him.

A long pass to KC Concepcion, who was being covered by Moore before the injury, set up an easy rushing touchdown by Le'Veon Moss to make the score 17-14 with the Fighting Irish only leading by three points.

There has yet to be an update on Moore's injury, but it sounded like he might have been in the defensive huddle on the side of the field, so that could be some good news. With Notre Dame on offense, he will have time to see how his leg is doing, but after getting rolled up on, it didn't look good.

Check back for updates on Moore's injury designation for the rest of the game.

Leonard Moore injury update

Moore returned to the field on the next defensive drive. Sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen reported that Moore spent about three minutes in the medical tent, where they put tape on his ankle, and he moved around on the sideline to make sure he was good to go.

Moore is already back on the field for the Fighting Irish. This is great news for the Notre Dame defense, which felt Moore's missing presence who even just a few plays.
