Notre Dame has come a long way in the last four years, and the majority of that is because of Marcus Freeman. When former head coach Brian Kelly decided to leave the program, fans were happy to say 'good riddance' and welcome Freeman with open arms.
One of the great things that Freeman has brought to South Bend is his ability to recruit at a high level. Notre Dame has had some of the top recruiting classes under Freeman, and it is simply because of the program he is building and the type of coach that he is to his players.
For one recent Notre Dame commit, he had plans of keeping his recruiting open during his visit to South Bend, but there was one thing that got him to decide on the Fighting Irish earlier than he anticipated.
Four-star DB Khalil Terry didn’t plan to commit during his Notre Dame visit, until a meeting with Marcus Freeman changed his mind.

Marcus Freeman is the reason for Notre Dame's success and it can't be forgotten
For four-star defensive back Khalil Terry he was on a trip to Notre Dame just simply looking around at what the Fighting Irish had to offer. Terry had no intentions of committing during his trip to South Bend until he had a meeting with Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman, and that sealed the deal.
"I knew I wanted to commit after my meeting with Coach Freeman," Terry told Rivals' Mike Singer.
Terry is a four-star recruit out of Tustin, California, so the Indiana weather might be a bit of a culture shock for him. However, the defensive back is ranked the No. 200 player in the Class of 2027, the No. 21 DB in his class, and the No. 20 player in the state of California, according to 247Sports Composite.
Terry is showing that Notre Dame fans need to know how lucky they are to have Freeman because if he is the reason guys want to play at Notre Dame, if he ever decides to leave South Bend, that kind of recruiting is going with him.
