For the second straight year, it looked like the Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball team might surprise people with how good they were. However, things aren’t going exactly as planned now that they’ve entered ACC play.
In other spots around the program, one of the better goalies to come through South Bend is headed to the NHL, and the portal opening on Monday has already caused plenty of action.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball gets swept
It doesn’t help that Notre Dame baseball plays in one of the best conferences in the sport. However, at some point, they need to rise to the occasion. That was not the case this weekend.
The Irish weren’t just swept over the weekend, they were beat in such a way that Georgia Tech wiped them out. If there’s one bonus to the 18-7, 9-5 and 10-2 losses, it’s that the Yellow Jackets jumped into the Top 25 with their wins.

Owen Say headed to Calgary
After a successful junior campaign for the Notre Dame Fighitng Irish, which included 10 wins in goal and a .920 save percentage, Owen Say has signed a one year, two-way, deal with the Calgary Flames.
In 25 starts for the Irish this past season, Say registered 829 saves and boasted a .920 save percentage. His 10 wins on the year include four over ranked opponents, all of whom were ranked in the top 10 at the time of the game.

Notre Dame basketball loses two to portal
The transfer portal officially opened on Monday and two members of the basketball team have already decided they're looking elsewhere. Tae Davis announced his intention to leave on Sunday night.
He was joined on Monday by J.R. Konieczny. Of the two, it would seem as though Davis will get the bulk of the attention as he had a truly exceptional season with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and showed some real improvement from his first year in South Bend.
