There's been a lot of hype surrounding the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this year. More than a little bit of that hype has centered on the team possibly winning a national title. But there is at least one analyst who thinks they're going to fall very short.
JD Pickell just put out his predictions for the entire season, as well as how the playoffs are going to go. He doesn't have a ton of faith in Marcus Freeman and Co. While he thinks they'll go to the playoffs, he has them as only a No. 11 seed and losing in the first round to No. 6 Penn State.
Pete Bevacqua talks USC Rivalry game
Just ahead of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish kicking off fall camp, AD Pete Bevacqua had a bit of a scrum with local media. The topic quickly turned to the USC rivalry series lasting beyond 2026. He made it clear that if it were up to him, that series would absolutely keep going.
"I’ve said it. [Notre Dame head football coach] Marcus [Freeman] has said it," Bevacqua said. "And we make no secret about it. We want to play USC every year. As I’ve said in the past, I just think that would be a horrible thing if we don’t. I think it would be bad for us. I think it would be bad for college football."
Notre Dame Fighting Irish OC ranked by Andy Staples
Because it is that time of year where everyone is doing their preseason rankings, On3 analyst Andy Staples issued his rankings of the best offensive coordinators in college football.
Notre Dame's Mike Denbrock was ranked as the No. 2 offensive coordinator. He was ranked only behind Oregon OC Will Stein. And is expected to lead one of the best offenses in the sport this season.

When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted former Notre Dame Fighting Irish defensive back Benjamin Morrison, the story was all about him finally going to the show. Now that training camp has started, he's showing people what he can do. That includes handily winning a one-on-one situation that was so impressive, the team posted it on social media.
