Notre Dame could be flipping College Football Playoff seeds with B1G squad
The Notre Dame football team is spending its Sunday morning much in the same way it has spent its Sunday for the last 10 weeks. It’s bathing in the afterglow of a win while it watches the rest of the college football world get wracked by chaos.
A loss by Indiana, a close win by Penn State, and losses by Texas A&M and Alabama are sure to shake up the field once again. The chaos that has occurred hasn’t touched an Irish squad that just keeps winning, and winning in dominating fashion.
So what does that mean for the Notre Dame football team’s playoff hopes? The last bracket released showed the Blue and Gold had finally moved into a spot where they would be hosting a game in South Bend should the season end before the season actually ends. However, one ESPN analyst believes that the shakeup this weekend could help the Irish move up a couple more spots. From the No. 8 seed to the No. 6 seed.
Notre Dame football could jump a few spots in next Playoff bracket
Over on social media Heather Dinich has been taking a close look at just what could happen thanks to Notre Dame blasting the Black Knights while the Nittany Lions struggled to ground the Golden Gophers. And the one point win could see the Happy Valley residents sink in the playoff field.
Dinich said she believes Penn State and the Fighting Irish could switch spots from last week’s layout. That would mean Marcus Freeman and company would move up to six and Penn State would drop to eight.
Last week, that would have meant trading Alabama for Georgia as an opponent in South Bend, but with Alabama losing, Georgia has a chance to jump several spots. We, of course, won’t know for sure until Tuesday night, but the rumblings are already strong.
