Now that Notre Dame quarterback commit Teddy Jarrard has reclassified to the 2026 class, the Fighting Irish have pegged Wonderful Monds IV as their possible 2027 quarterback target.

A dual-threat 4-star quarterback, Monds threw for 2,234 yards last season with 23 touchdowns and just 5 interceptions. He also ran for 502 yards and 9 more scores.

The most interesting part of this Notre Dame offer is that Monds is much more of a Riley Leonard, the mold of Riley Leonard, instead of CJ Carr. The good news is that Mike Denbrock's offense has shown that it can be molded to either type of quarterback and still be highly effective.

Denbrock and quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli paid a visit to a Florida-area quarterback earlier this week. During that visit, they made an offer and made a solid impression on one of the best QBs in the 2027 class.

"They were just talking to me about my process and stuff, and ended up telling me that I had an offer," Monds told Irish Sports Daily. “I was definitely super excited to get that offer. It’s a great school overall, so I was just very happy that I got that one."

While the visit to his school and the offer was new, Notre Dame is not a stranger to the talented signal caller.

“I know a pretty good amount about Notre Dame,” he added. “I visited there this past summer and got to see a lot up there. They just have a great program. Coach (Marcus) Freeman does a great job with that program."

Notre Dame obviously has a long way to go before it even comes close to landing a commitment from Wonderful Monds IV. However, they've got their foot in the door with 11 months to go.
