While Notre Dame notched its first win of the season this weekend, Ayden Pouncey showed off why the Fighting Irish should be excited to have him on campus next year.

Pouncey committed to the Golden Domers this spring, and he's been loyal as all get out since he gave Marcus Freeman and Co. his pledge. And now his season has started off with a bang. That was especially the case on Friday night when he showed out.

Pouncey's opponents know that he's good enough to stay away from. The Notre Dame commit didn't get much action early in the game, but eventually they tried him. With four minutes to go in the half, they finally threw at him, and he made them pay. He picked off the pass and returned the interception for a touchdown.

In the third quarter, Pouncey's squad rallied for a 24-23 lead when the defensive back nabbed another interception and returned it for his second touchdown of the game. It also gave his team the edge it needed to make sure it won as they went up 31-23.

The Irish commit wasn't just a defensive stud. He also managed to have quite the outing on the offensive side of the ball. Pouncey finished with four catches for 93 yards and a touchdown, plus 7 tackles and those two interceptions.

Through four games, Pouncey has 16 catches for 381 yards and 5 touchdowns. Defensively, the Notre Dame commit recorded 23 tackles (one for loss) and 5 interceptions, four of which he's returned for scores.
