Several former Notre Dame football players participated in the school’s pro day earlier this week. However, it might be the guy who didn’t take part that stands out a bit.
Defensive back Benjamin Morrison finished the year watching the Fighting Irish because he was injured for the second straight year. Luckily, the injury wasn’t the same as it was in 2023, so there isn’t really any concerns that the DB is “injury prone.” Still, there are plenty of people with the NFL who would like to see that he’s 100% healthy and ready to compete. That’s why Morrison’s decision this week seemed to be high risk and low reward.
Morrison told the media that while he wanted to support his Notre Dame football teammates at the pro day, he wasn’t going to work out. Instead he’s going to have his own showcase where he goes through the same drills that were run on the pro day. And one has to wonder if that’s was the right choice.
Benjamin Morrison didn’t work out at Notre Dame Pro Day despite being fully cleared coming back from hip surgery. He’s waiting for his personal showcase, which he has not set a date for yet.

Notre Dame football star skips school pro day
It gets a bit stranger considering that Morrison said that he hasn’t set the date for this personal showcase. It will obviously take place before the draft so that he can indeed show that he’s healthy and ready to go.
One has to wonder if, no matter when he stages that showcase, that he might have hurt his draft status a bit skipping working out at the combine and then at Notre Dame football’s pro day. We’ll of course see if there is any damage done with Benjamin Morrison’s draft chances.
