Notre Dame footbal's very first commitment in the 2026 recruiting class doesn't intend to change his plans any time soon. That is a significant development for Marcus Freeman and his staff. Dylan Faison offered some good news during a period where plenty of players are going back on their commit.

The St. Andrew's School (Boca Raton, FL) senior, the brother of current Fighting Irish junior wide receiver Jordan Faison, pledged to the Blue and Gold in March of 2024 and does not plan on changing allegiances despite Miami extending a scholarship offer in early June.

Dylan Faison stands firm with Notre Dame football

It was more than a just a courtship from the Hurricanes. The Notre Dame football team was worried enough about losing the next generation of Faisons to Miami.

Recruiting is different now compared to even a few short years ago, but wording it as strongly as "Notre Dame is family" and calling it home, it would certainly appear Marcus Freeman and company seem to have extremely little to worry about here. And then there’s the fact that Faison told On3’s Mike Singer that “I’m 100 percent locked in with Notre Dame. It's home.”

There’s more than one reason why the younger Faison locking in with the Fighting Irish is good news. Like his brother, Dylan plans to also play lacrosse for the powerhouse program in South Bend. He stands to help the team immensely as he's ranked as 2026's No. 1 lacrosse recruit in the country according to Inside Lacrosse.

It will be interesting to see how the Notre Dame football team and the lacrosse team mesh with both Faison brothers.
