With the Notre Dame football team gearing up for another commit during what has been one heck of a heater, current commits aren't taking any chances. This was demonstrated again when 4-star defender Ellis McGaskin made his pitch for elite 2027 QB prospect Teddy Jarrard.
Peer recruiting has been a big deal for the Fighting Irish this year, especially. Social media has played a part in the recruiting of all kinds of prospects this year and McGaskin is making sure he does his part.
Ellis McGaskin publicly courts 4-star QB Teddy Jarrard to join Notre Dame’s 2027 class
The defender quoted a post talking about Jarrard making his pick later this week. It was a short and sweet post, but one that can only help Notre Dame football if for no other reason, because it shows the commits are keeping an eye on one another, and that can be a very bid deal for the Fighting Irish.
Let’s get this class rolling man come home🍀 https://t.co/3xO4BBIpBe

"Let’s get this class rolling man come home," McGaskin wrote on X.
McGaskin's post also carries a little extra weight because he's Notre Dame's first commit in the 2027 class. That he's chasing down Jarrard to join him when he makes his call on Thursday could have extra weight.
The defender's post could be the cherry on the sundae of recruiting for the 4-star quarterback. While he does have several finalists listed, it feels like this is yet another fight between the Notre Dame football team and Penn State. And should the Irish win that fight again, it seems as though Ellis McGaskin is a reason why they win it.
