If the Notre Dame football team achieves its top goals for 2025, it's almost certainly going to do it because the Fighting Irish offense explodes. If it does explode, one analyst thinks the driving force behind it will be wide receivers Jaden Greathouse and Malachi Fields.
Greathouse is one of those names that has been mentioned over and over as someone who might break out. Fields, a new addition to Notre Dame, has had plenty of good performances at his previous school to make people believe he could be a nice weapon for either CJ Carr or Kenny Minchey, whoever wins the starting quarterback job.
Notre Dame football wide receivers Jaden Greathouse and Malachi Fields primed for 2025 breakout
Nicholas Rome of Saturday Blitz went a bit farther than just "nice weapons" as he included both Greathouse and Fields in a list of 50 players who are "set to dominate" in 2025.
"Heading into 2025, Notre Dame will be banking on Greathouse to carry the momentum into this season as they'll need everyone to step up with a first time starter at quarterback," Rome wrote of the veteran Notre Dame football wideout. "If Greathouse can stay healthy, he'll have his biggest season yet, and his ability as a contested catch monster will be a great tool with a young quarterback at the helm."
He was equally effusive in his praise of Fields.
"Fields' size at 6-foot-4 will make him a massive target for whoever starts at quarterback. Fields brings physicality on the outside and has shown an impressive ability as a vertical threat."
There are plenty of reasons to be excited about the Notre Dame football team as we're just weeks away from fall camp kicking off. Jaden Greathouse and Malachi Fields are just two of those reasons. But they could play a massive part in Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish rising to the top of the sport this fall.
