The Notre Dame football team has, to be kind, a rough month on the recruiting front. But there’s plenty of time to turn things around and a visit next month from Jailen Hill could be a big step in the right direction.

Hill is a defensive back in the 2027 class who has some of the best programs in the country more than a little interested. Luckily for the Irish, they will host Hill on an unofficial visit in April.

The Notre Dame football team has locked in a visit to South Bend from Jailen Hill on April 11. That will sort of kick off the next phase of the young star’s recruitment as he’s also set to check out USC on April 26 and then Ohio State in June.

Notre Dame football to host talented defensive back Jailen Hill

While the Irish would love to land him, Hill has offers from some of the best teams in the country and it’s clear that this is going to be one heck of a fight. In addition to USC and Ohio State being among the top teams, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Nebraska are all in on the defensive back.

Greg Biggins of 247Sports believes Hill is someone who can patrol the secondary from basically any position:

“Hill is one of the more versatile defensive backs out West and could end up at corner or safety in college. He has tremendous length at 6-2 and a 78” wingspan and can smother opposing receivers at the line of scrimmage and down the field in coverage. He has a corner skill set but has the range to play safety and athletically, that might be his best college position.”

The Notre Dame football team will look into where Hill’s best fit might be when he comes to check out South Bend next month.
