Notre Dame football broke open the piggy bank in a big way to get Ja'Jaun Seider

Reports indicate that Notre Dame football is paying Seider significantly more than the man he replaced.

The Notre Dame football team’s hiring of Ja’Juan Seider reportedly came with a hefty price tag.

That shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, considering that the Irish had to go and get him from Penn State. However, just how much Seider is getting paid might be a little bit surprising if for no other reason than he might be one of, if not the, highest-paid assistant coaches in the sport.

According to Football Scoop, the Notre Dame football signed Seider to a seven-figure salary. While there aren’t any specifics for exactly how much he’s making, if he’s getting more than $1 million per year, he’d likely be third on the entire Irish staff behind offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock and new defensive coordinator Chris Ash. Denbrock got a massive paybump last year to come to South Bend and it’s expected that Ash’s contract is similar to the one that Al Golden had before leaving for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Notre Dame football gives Seider a massive contract

If Seider does have the kind of contract he’s expected to have, it would mean quite the pay bump over what former running back Deland McCullough got last year.

The ex-Irish coach was one of the highest-paid position coaches in the sport in 2024, hauling in around $725,000 per year. However, Ja’Jaun Seider is reportedly getting at least $325,000 a year more than McCullough did.

Assuming the report is true, Seider’s contract is another sign that the Notre Dame football team is willing to dish out big money to stay ahead of the pack and make another championship game run.
