For the last few weeks, the idea that Jeremiyah Love was headed to New Orleans in the 2026 NFL Draft has been the prevailing thought for analysts. However, Daniel Jeremiah has started a trend that sees the former Notre Dame running back going one spot later in the first round and heading to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jeremiah believes that when push comes to shove, New Orleans will look to add a new receiver to the team to give quarterback Tyler Shough a new weapon. If Love does have to wait after New Orleans makes its pick, he won't be waiting long. The Irish back will go one spot later and still stay in the Top 10.
"Patrick Mahomes finally gets an elite back," the NFL analyst wrote about the former Notre Dame star going to Kansas City. "If defenses continue to play a conservative shell defense against the Chiefs, Love can make them pay."

Would New Orleans really be able to pass up one of the most electric players to enter the draft in the last few seasons? Could it pass on a running back who has also shown an elite ability to be a receiving weapon out of the backfield? Some analysts believe the Chiefs will take that choice out of the Saints' hands.
Some believe the Chiefs might even trade up to jump ahead of New Orleans to make sure Patrick Mahomes gets that special running back he's been without for most of his NFL career.
One thing is sure: wherever the former Notre Dame star ends up, he's one of the most exciting players in the draft, and whatever team gets him is going to be quite excited to see what he can do at the next level.
