When it comes to Jeremiyah Love and the 2026 NFL Draft, it's not about whether the Notre Dame running back will go early in the first round, but how early. For weeks, analysts have predicted that Love might go higher and higher with some believing he could even be the fourth overall pick. However, ESPN analyst Adam Schefter believes the runningback's climb is over and he'll likely slip, if only a little bit.

On the Adam Schefter show, the analyst said he thinks the mostly likely landing spot is surprisingly, the Washington Commanders. He also made it clear that he believes a lot can change between now and the NFL Draft, which is still a month away.

"I know a lot of people have had him going to Tennessee," Schefter said about the Notre Dame star. "Again. It's just not what I'm sensing right now. And by the way, it's March 23rd. The draft is a month from now. There are a lot of teams that go back and forth on these things."

Jeremiyah Love’s latest 2026 NFL Draft projection points to a new team for the Notre Dame football star

"Just because they're not in a spot on March 23rd doesn't mean they won't be in a different spot on April 23rd. So it's hard to say. Today, as we sit here today, my guess would be I don't see them going to Tennessee."

"The Giants at number five, although that would be an interesting spot and I think he'd have a lot of support there, to me, a place that makes sense today, a month out, would be the Washington Commanders."

Schefter added that the Notre Dame running back going that "low" is hardly out of the question. In fact, it would be higher than the Atlanta Falcons drafted Bijan Robinson and Christian McCaffrey was selected by the Carolina Panthers (eighth).

Notre Dame fans would love to see Jeremiyah Love go higher than the Washington Commanders and even the New York Giants. However, It wouldn't be a unusual or out of the question for him to drop a bit and still make out like a bandit.
