Joshua Rogers believes that Notre Dame could be the perfect fit for his college career. Now the Fighting Irish need to decide whether the 3-star defensive lineman is a perfect fit for their program.
Rogers may not have an offer from Marcus Freeman and Co. just yet, but he did get an invite to the home opener against Rice. The Indiana native definitely liked what he saw and now hopes he’ll eventually get that offer.
"I like it a lot," Rogers recently told Irish Sports Daily. "I like the fit. I like the idea of me playing in that kind of scheme that they have going for me in the four-man front." He added that obviously, the shutout and all the forced turnovers from Notre Dame definitely got his attention.
Joshua Rogers is a defensive lineman in the 2028 recruiting class. The 6-foot-2, 255-pound defender plays for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis, Indiana. While 247Sports hasn’t graded him, Rivals ranks him as the No. 759 player in the 2028 class, the No. 72 defensive lineman, and the No. 10 player in Indiana. All of that hints at a player who has largely gone under the radar.

Still, Rogers has plenty of attention from Power 4 programs. Rogers' known scholarship offers include Boston College, Kansas, Miami (Ohio), Missouri, Purdue, San Diego State, Toledo, and UConn. Missouri gave Rogers his first known Power Four offer during his sophomore season, with Purdue and Kansas quickly following as his recruitment grew. For now, Missouri coming calling from the SEC might be the most interesting school pursuing the young player.
As a sophomore in 2025, Rogers recorded 42 tackles, including 26 solo stops, 11 tackles for loss, and five sacks in 10 games for Brebeuf Jesuit. He also recorded 5 quarterback hurries and recovered one fumble. Rogers finished the season as Brebeuf's sack leader, including a two-sack performance in the Braves' playoff victory over Crispus Attucks. This year, he’s already got 1.5 sacks and 5 quarterback hurries through three games, according to MaxPreps.
Despite not getting that elusive offer from Notre Dame yet, Joshua Rogers isn’t hiding how psyched he’ll be if it does eventually come: “It would mean a lot to me. Obviously, I'm from Indiana, so to get an opportunity to play at the best football school in the state is always awesome to me."
