One of the truly confounding aspects of the Notre Dame football team over the last few years regarding recruiting, is just how many problems Mike Brown and company had landing the top wide receiver prospects in the sport.
Is it possible that the dry spell is finally over? Have Brown and head coach Marcus Freeman and the bunch managed to finally convince one of the top receiver targets on their board to come play in South Bend and really show what he can do? It certainly looks like the Irish are about to land 4-star receiver Kaydon Finley.
Notre Dame football closing in on top WR target Kaydon Finley
While there isn’t an official commitment date sent for Finley, it could be coming soon. That’s because more and more recruiting analysts are picking the Notre Dame football team to land the talented player out of Aledo, Texas.
It’s also worth pointing out that it’s not one website that is predicting Finley to head to the Golden Domers. Over on 247Sports, Irish analyst Eric Thomas put in a crystal ball for Finley to become a member of the 2026 recruiting class. He did so on Monday afternoon. On3’s Steve Wiltfong did the same on Sunday afternoon.
If the analysts are correct, the Irish will be landing one of the top recruits in the country, as Finley is ranked as the No. 101 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Currently Notre Dame has one commit at the position in the class, Dylan Faison, Jordan’s younger brother.
Should he pull the trigger on the commitment, it could be the kind of thing that would reverse the negative momentum the Notre Dame football team has had in regards to wide receiver recruiting in the last few classes as well.
