With the Notre Dame football team locking down its 2026 recruiting class, Marcus Freeman and Co. can spend most of their time on the 2027 cycle. That focus includes one of the top offensive linemen in the next class. And with the news that Kennedy Brown will take a gameday visit, the Irish have their foot in the door of one of the most sought-after targets.
Brown is not just the top offensive line prospect in 2027, but according to Rivals, is the top player overall. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound monster out of Kingwood (Houston, TX) has offers from all of the best programs in the country. However, it looks like Clemson, Tennessee, and Notre Dame are standing out as three of Brown's favorites.
Notre Dame football hosting 2027's top prospect in Kennedy Brown
The Notre Dame football team could, in fact, have another recruiting battle with Penn State brewing with Kennedy Brown. While Nate Gravender is reporting that for now, gameday visits to the Irish, Clemson, and Tennessee are on his agenda, the Nittany Lions are working hard to make inroads with the nation's top prospect.
One should also never count out the Texas Longhorns, who have long been considered one of the top candidates for the offensive lineman. While speaking with On3's Sam Spiegelman, Brown named Texas as one of his top suitors. He also spoke on his relationships with UT head coach Steve Sarkisian, offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and senior football analyst Derron Gatewood.
While Kennedy Brown hasn't said which game he'll take in, there are plenty of important home games for the Notre Dame football team to choose from. One would think he might have the week when Texas A&M Aggies are visiting circled as a top candidate.
