Former Notre Dame football running back Kyren Williams has been one of the best running backs in the NFL over the last two years. So why doesn't the NFL know it?
To be fair to the people who put together the Top 100 players team, they did include Williams on the list. It's just that where they put him shows that he's still somehow underrated.
Notre Dame football alum Kyren Williams lands only 85th on NFL Top 100 list

On Thursday, the NFL officially unveiled its list of the Top 100 players, and Williams came in at No. 85 on the list. That's impressive for sure, but as New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston said, the former Notre Dame football player is one of the most underrated players in the league. He's still underrated, even as the league acknowledges him.
Williams has been one of the most productive running backs in the NFL for the past two seasons for the Los Angeles Rams, scoring 31 touchdowns from 2023-24. He earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in 2023, and he finished 11th in Offensive Player of the Year voting in 2024.
He's rushed for almost 2,700 yards over the last two seasons and added another 70 catches for 400 yards. He's become the Rams' top offensive weapon. And yet, he's not among the 50 best players in the league?
It's a hard list to crack for sure. It's even harder to move up the list. That his 2023 campaign came out of nowhere is likely a strike against him.
However, considering that he came out of nowhere, he's been even better, it feels like the NFL still isn't getting it right.
Granted, it's possible it's good that Kyren Williams is still underrated. The ex-Notre Dame football running back still has something to prove. He can run with a chip on his shoulder. And move up the list next year when the league comes to its senses.
