Will all the drama that’s currently circulating around the Miami Hurricanes affect them - and Carson Beck specifically - enough for it to matter once their game against the Notre Dame football team rolls around this fall? Probably not. But I’m also not one to rule out the idea that any thing that could get in Beck’s head, even during spring practice, isn’t a bad thing.
After all, Beck is almost certainly going to be the starting quarterback for a team he doesn’t know all that well. He’s going to start learning that offense when spring practice kicks off. And Irish fans saw how missing spring practice affected Riley Leonard at the start of the season. Even if Beck can practice (which doesn’t appear to be a given after an injury in the playoffs last year) I’m ok with him being even a little bit distracted.
So what exactly is the drama? Notre Dame football fans couldn’t be blamed if they’re not clear. As the whole thing is a bunch of rumors, whispers and vague comments. Beck is dating one half of one of the most famous athletic twins in the country in Hanna Cavinder. She and her sister Haley play basketball for Miami and it was thought that Beck transferred to the Hurricanes from Georgia in large part because of his relationship with Hanna. According to Haley, that relationship might be about to end.

Notre Dame football rival has some QB1 drama brewing
Late last week, Haley took to the Cavinder Twins’ official TikTok to spill some dirt. And while she was vague and didn’t mention Carson Beck specifically, her comments seemed pretty pointedly aimed at him.
"I just want to say one thing because I can’t be too crazy unfiltered on here. If your sister comes to you – or your friend or someone that’s really important in your life – and they have a gut feeling about a relationship or a friendship, for example – and they just tell you that on a repeated basis, trust your dang sister. Trust her.”
"She’s always right. I promise you. Or your mom. They’re always right. Anyways, happy Thursday."
When asked to elaborate, Haley responded that it wasn’t her story to tell, but it certainly seems like she dropped the bomb she intended.
Notre Dame football fans should hope this drama lasts all the way to the fall when the rivalry against the Miami Hurricanes sparks back up on August 31.
