After five years of living out his dreams playing in the NFL, former Notre Dame football wide receiver Miles Boykin is calling it a career. Boykin suffered a series of injuries after graduating from the Fighting Irish that hamstrung an otherwise promising career.
Boykin announced on social media that he was retiring from football. After thanking his teammates and coaches, he said he was excited for the next stage in his life.
Boykin played for the Notre Dame football team from 2015 to 2018, and he bided his time until his senior season, where he had a breakout campaign. In 2018, he caught 59 passes for 872 yards and 8 touchdowns. Entering the year, he'd tallied just 18 catches for 330+ yards and 3 TDs in his career.

Notre Dame wide receiver Miles Boykin’s NFL career ends after years of injuries and roster shifts
The Baltimore Ravens selected Boykin in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but he struggled to make an impact due to a variety of injuries. His NFL career started strongly; he caught a touchdown pass in his debut game. But a hamstring injury ended his time with the Ravens.
In 2022, after three years with the Ravens, he jumped to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he struggled with even more injuries and tallied just 5 catches for 28 yards in two seasons. Miles Boykin was on the practice squads for the New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks during the 2024 season and for the Chicago Bears in 2025, but never saw any game action.
As is the case with most players who come from Notre Dame, the good news is that the education in South Bend prepared him quite well for his post-playing days. It will be quite interesting to see what he does with the next chapter of his life.
