Marcus Freeman has led a resurgence of sorts for the Notre Dame football team. While Brian Kelly was able to take the team to the playoffs and get the Fighting Irish back in the minds of most college football fans, Freeman has taken the next step. Don't just take my word for it. On3 analysts Andy Staples and Ari Wasserman recently discussed the trajectory of the Golden Domers.
While both analysts had nice things to say about Notre Dame's direction under Freeman, Staples had a specific prediction that should make Irish fans quite excited. The analyst believes it won't be too long before Notre Dame wins a National Championship.
"I think Notre Dame is going to break through here in the next 10 years if they keep on the trajectory they are on," Staples wrote. "I like that they have created this, 'We are the place you go to become a badass offensive lineman.' Like, if you're going to have a brand, that's the brand to have because that gives you the highest possible floor. And then, do you get the right skill guys? Do you get the right quarterback around him? But I think when you start there, it's a good place to start."
Analyst: Notre Dame football could capture a national championship within the next decade
Wasserman chimed in that the Notre Dame football recruiting efforts of late played a significant role in setting Freeman's squad up for success.
"Also went on a recruiting tear in the last month of which Notre Dame has rarely if ever seen in the modern era," Wasserman wrote. "Maybe the best recruiting run that we've seen from them. And the whole thing about them with Marcus Freeman is they can recruit at a higher level now."
Notre Dame football fans should be excited about the program's trajectory. Analysts around the country clearly see something worth pointing out in what Freeman is building. Hopefully, rather than 10 years, 2025 is when all of the positivity combines for a National Title.
