As the Notre Dame football team gets ready to start fall camp, all eyes will be on the offense as it gears up for its second season under offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock. One unit that's gotten a ton of love this offseason is the running back room. But one analyst went a step further. Rather than just being good, David Pollack says that the Fighting Irish running back room is "the standard" for the sport this year.

The Notre Dame running back room has been getting plenty of love this year. Jeremiyah Love is a big reason why the unit is getting as much love as it is. But he's not the only reason. The entire room has a ton of talent, and Pollack certainly understands that.

How Jeremiyah Love and Notre Dame football can prove the hype once camp begins

"Notre Dame has the best running back room in the country, and it's not close," Pollack said on a recent podcast episode. "Penn State definitely has a gripe. Like, that's fair. I jumped the gun a little bit on that."

"I apologize, Penn State fans. But here's the thing. Love's the best to me. He's the best running back in the country because he's got the wiggle. He's got the juice. He's got moves. And then when you got Jadarian Price, who comes in, who's totally different and so freaking physical. And then Love comes back in, and you're like, gosh, dang it. Like, really? I got to tackle both of these guys?"

"And then Aneyas Williams ... he's a great third down back. That's why Notre Dame has the best backfield in America."

The Notre Dame football team will officially start trying to live up to that endorsment this week.
