The Notre Dame football team has been on a hot streak on the recruiting front in the last couple of weeks. And it’s not just about adding bodies.
The Fighting Irish have landed three commits in the last couple of weeks in Rodney Dunham, Ebenezer Ewetade and then finally Gregory Patrick on Sunday. All three of those players were at least 4-star rated recruits on every major analyst service and that in turn has given the Golden Domers a real boost in the team rankings.
There had been some concern earlier this winter about the direction the Notre Dame football team’s recruiting efforts had been going. That’s been reversed as they are in the Top 10 among all four sites that fans use to track that sort of thing.
Notre Dame football surging in 2026 recruiting rankings
The site that’s least impressed with the Irish’s job on the recruiting front is also the one we can probably ignore the most. ESPN does have Marcus Freeman’s squad inside the Top 10 at No. 8 but it’s worth pointing out they have the fewest people dedicated to in depth recruiting.
Rivals is a bit more impressed with the latest gets. After landing Patrick, the Irish moved from just outside the Top 10 to No. 6 in the country. That echoes 247Sports who had ND at No. 9 but moved them up to No. 6 as well after securing Patrick’s commitment.
Finally, On3 is the most impressed with what the Notre Dame football team has done on the 2026 recruiting front, ranking Marcus Freeman’s class at No.5 in the country. The really good news for Fighting Irish fans is that there are more than a few other highly ranked players that are all giving South Bend a good long look ahead of their commitments this spring and summer.
