How good will Notre Dame football be in 2025? The answer to that question won't come until much later this year, but considering two members of the team were just named to the 2025 Walter Camp Preseason FBS All-America Team, it's clear Marcus Freeman has serious talent on his hands.
Later this month, the Fighting Irish will kick off fall camp. When they do, all eyes will be on who is under center. But they'll also be looking at who operates the defensive front and who leads the team out of the receiving corps.
All eyes will also be on Notre Dame football running back Jeremiyah Love and defensive back Leonard Moore as they're now considered among the best players in the country, according to the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
Neither choice is all that surprising. Love is considered one of (if not the) best running backs in the country. Moore burst onto the scene as a freshman last year and is also expected to make some serious noise as a returning starter.
It's more about the fact that Notre Dame has two players, one on each side of the ball, on the Walter Camp 2025 Walter Camp Preseason FBS All-America First Team. The only other program that can make that boast is defending National Champion, Ohio State.
So what does this mean? It's not as though Notre Dame gets an extra win or scores extra points because two of its players made the list.
It's still one of those bragging points that Marcus Freeman will be able to point to when he goes into a kid's living room and tries to convince him to come to South Bend.
